I'm house hunting and checked this place out.

(How many kids live in the immediate vicinity of this home? What ages are they?)

This short cul-de-sac has *lots* of kids, mostly in elementary and middle school. My guess is at least ten kids live here. The youngest, I believe, is five, and on the young end, most (all?) kids are girls.

(Do kids play outside around there? How often? In the streets, the fronts of houses, or the back yards?)

This is the best block I've seen in Palo Alto for outdoor activity for kids, at least for girls. There is lots of kid stuff laying around all the time, and when I pass by on a weekday afternoon or weekend day, more often than not, at least one kid, usually more, is outside playing.

Adult community

(Do adults spend time in front of their houses and walking around the neighborhood? How well do they know each other?)

This is a fantastic block for adult community, probably the best I've seen in Palo Alto. One parent told me that they have "fire pit" parties on Friday afternoon, and sure enough, on one Friday at 5, I passed by, and there were about eight or ten people outside and they had a fire pit going.
The cul-de-sac makes this location ideal for casual outdoor living. As for schools, the school whose district this home is in, Duveneck, is actually further away than Addison. However, to get to Addison you need to cross Middlefield.
