How do you know this house's neighborhood?

I'm house hunting and checked this place out.

Kid population

(How many kids live in the immediate vicinity of this home? What ages are they?)

One toddler girl lives two houses away on the same side of the street, and there are a few elementary school-aged kids a little further away. A block away across the street, there are two preschoolers and a mom who has them playing outside often (see all the kid clutter).

Play opportunities

(Do kids play outside around there? How often? In the streets, the fronts of houses, or the back yards?)

It's pretty quiet (i.e. "dead") around here for kids except when kids walk to and from the schools that are close by.

Adult community

(Do adults spend time in front of their houses and walking around the neighborhood? How well do they know each other?)

Pretty dead...

Other Comments

There is moderate to low car traffic. The main benefit here is that Walter Hays Elementary is very close (albeit across Embarcadero), Jordan Middle School is very close, and all the Palo Alto "Community Center" amenities (Rinconada Park, Main Library, Children's Library) are quite close, albeit on the other side of Embarcadero.
